Priyanshu Joshi, also known as Pranshu, is the leader of the Hindu Samaj Party Yuva Morcha in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh. He is known for threatening Muslim families in the region.
In August 2021, Joshi led a group to sit on a hunger strike in a posh neighborhood in Moradabad, demanding the cancellation of the sale of two houses to Muslim buyers. The local police registered a case against Joshi and 14 others for making statements amounting to public mischief and creating or promoting hatred or enmity between classes inside a temple in the area. In the same neighborhood, some Hindu families had threatened an “exodus” after news of the sale.
Although the police have barred the entry of Hindu Samaj Party Yuva Morcha members in the neighborhood, the Muslim families voluntarily agreed to transfer the ownership back to the original sellers as they wanted to avoid controversies.
Joshi celebrated this, announcing plans to take his communal harassment tactics to other areas, alleging that it was not a local issue anymore. He threatened that there would be no planning but direct “action” next time.
Joshi’s social media posts show his social outreach work to protect Hindus against Muslims.
