Priti Gandhi, a BJP leader and vocal supporter of Hindutva politics, has frequently used social media to amplify communal hostility. On November 2021, Gandhi shared a video falsely claiming that a Muslim man was spitting into food meant to be served at a langar. The video, which actually showed a religious ritual during the Urs at Tajul Ulama Dargah in Kerala, was maliciously framed to spread hatred against Muslims.
Despite fact-checks revealing that the man was reciting Quranic verses and blowing blessings onto the food—a common Sufi Sunni practice—Gandhi’s misleading tweet was never deleted. It remains online till date, having gathered nearly 4,000 likes, a sign of how such communal misinformation continues to thrive under her endorsement.
Gandhi’s use of inflammatory and deceptive content against minorities highlights her role as a hardline Hindutva figure, aggressively working to deepen religious divisions through online propaganda.
