P.C. George

Affiliation: Bharatiya Janata Party
Vocation/Title: Former BJP MLA
Categories: Hate Mongers
Location: Kerala

P.C. George, a senior BJP leader from Kerala, has built his political identity around hate speech targeting Muslims, especially through the repeated promotion of the debunked “love jihad” conspiracy.

On January 5, 2025, during a televised debate, George referred to Muslims as terrorists, sparking an FIR filed by the Muslim Youth League. His anticipatory bail was rejected by multiple courts, including the Kerala High Court, citing his repeated communal provocations. Though remanded to custody, he was later granted bail on health grounds.

Barely a week later, on March 10, 2025, he again stirred hatred during a public address in Pala, claiming: “Nearly 400 girls from Meenachil taluk had fallen victim to love jihad, of which only 41 could be brought back. I don’t understand why Christians keep their daughters unmarried until they turn 25 or 30. Even yesterday, a 25-year-old girl from Bharananganam left home at 9.30 p.m. We should blame her father for keeping her unmarried for so long. Why didn’t he get her married at 22 or 23? This is something we must discuss. Pardon me for saying this, but she should have been married off sooner.”

George used this platform to urge early marriage as a “preventive measure” and accused Muslims of plotting violence, claiming explosives found in Erattupetta could “burn down all of Kerala.” The Kerala High Court had earlier noted that George had violated bail conditions that barred him from making hate speeches.

He has also previously been booked for inciting hatred at the Ananthapuri Hindu Maha Sammelanam and in Kochi in 2022. Despite a string of cases, George continues to spread communal venom with impunity, backed openly by Hindutva groups like Hindu Aikya Vedi.
