Madhur Nehra

Affiliation: Bajrang Dal
Vocation/Title: District Convenor, Ghaziabad
Location: Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh

Madhur Nehra, a Bajrang Dal leader based in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, is a prominent face of violent cow vigilantism in the region. On the night of June 4, 2025, Nehra led a mob of right-wing activists and villagers near Amrala village on Bhojpur-Pilkhuwa Road. Acting on what they claimed was a “tip-off,” the group stopped a truck transporting cattle remains and hides, accused the Muslim driver and cleaner of carrying beef, and proceeded to thrash them.

The truck was vandalised and set ablaze in full public view, with videos capturing the mob chanting “Desh ke gaddaron ko, goli maaro saalon ko” and “Police prashasan murdabad,” even as police stood by.

Instead of arresting the attackers, the police detained the two Muslim men, Imran and Waseem, while an FIR was filed against them based on Nehra’s complaint. The charred meat was sent for forensic testing, which reportedly confirmed the presence of cowhide.

Despite the violence, arson and public threats made in broad daylight, no legal action was taken against Nehra or the crowd he led.
