Deepak Azad

Affiliation: Bajrang Dal
Vocation/Title: Lawyer
Categories: Hate Mongers
Location: Faridabad, Haryana

Deepak Azad is a Faridabad-based leader of the Rashtriya Bajrang Dal and a practicing lawyer, known for repeatedly targeting Muslim vendors and shopkeepers in Haryana.

Over the past few years, Azad has made headlines for his aggressive actions rooted in Hindutva ideology, often carried out publicly and with visible administrative support.

On April 11, 2024, just days before Eid-ul-Fitr, Azad led a group of Bajrang Dal workers to shut down meat shops in Faridabad, claiming the owners did not possess valid licenses. Despite the presence of police officers at the scene, no action was taken against the mob. Azad publicly stated that the smell and sight of meat were making people sick and demanded the closure of all meat shops in the area.

In May 2025, Azad escalated his campaign. On May 8, he vandalised a Muslim street food vendor’s stall, demanding that the stall’s name be changed to reflect the owner’s religious identity. The vendor, who had been running the stall for 20 years, said he was singled out because he was Muslim. The following day, on May 9, Azad returned with the help of local authorities and used a bulldozer to dig a hole at the spot to stop the vendor from reopening.

Then on May 13, Azad and the administration demolished the same vendor’s stall entirely using a bulldozer. Witnesses said Azad openly threatened to drive the vendor out, declaring he would not allow a Muslim to do business in the area.
