Anu Satheesh is a Hindu supremacist with over 71,000 followers on Twitter. She regularly posts anti-Muslim content on her social media to spread communal hatred.
In September 2022, Satheesh posted fake news on Twitter for views, sharing a video of a huge Ganesh idol made of lemons and oranges. She falsely claimed it was from the recent Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in the Netherlands, writing, “Holland is said to be the capital of orange in the world. See how they celebrate Vinayaka Chaturthi.” Her post quickly went viral, gaining 20,500 likes and 3,141 retweets.
However, fact-checkers soon debunked her claim. The video was actually from Menton, France, taken at the Fête du Citron (Lemon Festival) in 2018, where large fruit sculptures are displayed every year. Satheesh never deleted the video even after fact-checkers exposed the truth.
Anu Satheesh posted a hateful comment on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “So what’s stopping Muslims from going back to Pakistan then? At least India’s population will be under control.” Her post quickly gained traction, racking up over 8,000 views, with right-wing supporters amplifying her message.
On September 9, a gas cylinder was found near a railway track in Kanpur. There were no casualties, and authorities did not confirm any foul play. But that didn’t stop Satheesh from jumping to conclusions. She posted, “Train Jihad is real,” without any evidence, fueling baseless conspiracy theories. Like her, many right-wing users amplified the claim, using it to target Muslims without proof. Satheesh and her supporters continue to spread fear, turning every incident into an excuse to push communal hate.
In October 2023, when people took to the streets to protest the war in Gaza, Satheesh seized the moment to spread her hate views. She posted, “Indian Muslims, never trust them,” blatantly targeting an entire community without any basis. Her comment was a clear attempt to stoke distrust.
Satheesh has repeatedly voiced her extreme views, even suggesting that Indian Muslims should be sent to Pakistan in exchange for Hindus there. She claims this would “control” India’s population, pushing a baseless conspiracy that Muslim population growth is a deliberate plan. She targets Muslims without any justification, and she goes as far as demanding their relocation to Pakistan.
