Aklavya Laxman Singh Gaur is the Convenor of the Hindutva organization Hind Rakshak, in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He is also the son of local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member Malini Gaur. He is known for encouraging the economic boycott of Muslim traders, complaints against comedians and actors and peddling conspiracy theories about “Love Jihad.”
In January 2021, Gaur filed a complaint accusing Munawar Faruqui, a stand-up comedian from Gujarat, for allegedly passing “indecent remarks” about Hindu deities and Union Home Minister Amit Shah during a show in Indore. Gaur and his associates forced the organizers to stop the program after Faruqui was allegedly heard rehearsing. Although Faruqui never made any derogatory jokes during the show, he was arrested with 4 other locals, sent to judicial custody and denied bail.
In June 2025, Gaur alleged that “Love Jihad,” a conspiracy theory peddled by Hindutva groups and leaders that Muslim men seduce Hindu women to convert them to Islam, was a well-planned scheme to destroy Hindu families during a Maheshwari Samaj event.
In August 2025, Gaur declared in a meeting with the Shitla Mata Market Traders’ Association in Indore, that “Love Jihad is the biggest conspiracy to increase the Islamic population. It has become a challenge to Sanatan Dharma,” referring to a philosophical concept of a Hindu way of life.
He issued a verbal diktat to vendors at Shitla Mata Market for women’s clothing, stating that no Muslim employees or tenants would be allowed to work in any of the 501 shops in the market by 25 September. He further “instructed” owners that any shop rented to Muslim traders must be vacated within two months in order to curb “Love Jihad.” As a result, Hindu shop owners dismissed around 100 employees and 40 to 50 Muslim tenants had to leave their shops. However, Muslim women would still be served without discrimination, highlighting a bias between Muslim customers and youth trying to earn a livelihood.
In March 2023 Gaur filed a police complaint against Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu over a necklace with a carved image of the Hindu goddess Lakshmi that she wore to a fashion event with a “revealing dress.” He claimed that Pannu had hurt his religious sentiments and offended “Sanatan Dharma.”
Gaur’s social media posts reflect his Hindutva ideology as he regularly posts anti-Muslim content, peddling the conspiracy theory that all Muslims are jihadis who take advantage of Hindu women. He also posts content criticizing Opposition party members for allegedly not supporting the Hindutva cause.
