Affiliation: Independent
Vocation/Title: Leader
Categories: Hate Mongers
Location: Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh

Abhishek Thakur is a local Hindutva leader from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. He is known for regularly making hateful comments, urging Hindus to wield weapons against Muslims and making casteist claims.

In October 2025, a video of Thakur making inflammatory remarks about Prophet Muhammad as “a 60-year-old man who was involved in rape of a 6-year-old,” went viral leading to his arrest. In the same video, he urged Hindus to burn an effigy of the Prophet instead of Ravan during festivities. He targeted Muslims who were protesting against religious discrimination with signs reading “I love Muhammad” while shouting “Jai Shri Ram.” He also called on Hindus to buy weapons and vowed to turn India into a “Bhagwa-e-Hind” (India of the Saffronites).

The police registered a complaint against Thakur only after the video attracted widespread public condemnation and demands for legal action. However, despite the police confirming his arrest, Thakur later appeared in another video claiming he was “safe,” denied being in police custody, shouted slogans in support of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the state police and mocked reports of his arrest.

Thakur’s social media posts proudly display his caste and make declarations that upper castes are better than others. He regularly posts anti-Muslim content and videos of himself making discriminatory statements.
