Sagar Ashok Beg is the National President of Sri Ram Sena Sangh, a Hindutva organization from Shrirampur, Maharashtra. He is known for regularly making hateful and inflammatory comments against Muslims.

During an election rally in Shrirampur, Maharashtra in November 2024, Beg delivered a hate speech where he claimed he did not need the political support of Muslims. He further claimed that the community was involved in “Love Jihad,” a conspiracy theory propagated by Hindutva leaders and groups, that Muslim men seduce Hindu women in order to convert them to Islam.

“I don’t need Muslim votes, so Muslims, please don’t bother voting for me. I only want Hindu votes. I don’t believe in Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” (Together with all, development for all).

In March 2025, Beg demanded the demolition of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb’s grave and the removal of his remains from Aurangabad after a screening of the controversial Bollywood movie “Chhava” in Shrirampur, Maharashtra. The film received criticism due to its historical inaccuracies and controversial portrayal of historical figures. After the screening Beg claimed that Muslims were “taking away Hindu women” and “grabbing temple lands.”

In the same month, Beg called for the removal of speakers from mosques during a Hindu festival event in Rahuri, Maharashtra. He also delivered a hate speech where he used anti-Muslim slurs. He went on to spread fear about Bangladeshi Muslim migrants calling them “infiltrators”, falsely claiming that two crore Bangladeshi Muslims had infiltrated Maharashtra and that Urdu Aadhaar cards were not made in India, which is false.

Also in the same month, the Hazrat Ahmed Chishti Dargah, a multi-faith shrine, was attacked and stormed by a mob which removed its traditional green flag and replaced it with a saffron flag in response to the alleged vandalization of a Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statue. Beg organized a Maha Aarti under the Sakal Hindu Samaj, an umbrella organization of Hindutva groups, in retaliation and publicized the site as the “Shri Buwasindh Dev Maharaj Temple,” a name that was seen as an attempt to rebrand the shrine.

In June 2025, Beg used slurs and derogatory terms to describe Muslims such as “landiya,” “jihadi,” and “mulla” during a Sakal Hindu Samaj meeting. He portrayed Muslims as sexually immoral and said, “Muslim women aren’t safe at home—how will they feel empathy for our mother cow or us?” He also made a threat, stating “The day the Hindu picks up the mace, even Aurangzeb will rise from his grave to chant Jai Shri Ram.”

Beg regularly posts his controversial speeches and interviews on his social media where he spews anti-Muslim hate.
