Affiliation: Bharatiya Janata Party
Vocation/Title: Member, former Minister of State for Panchayat Raj
Categories: Hate Mongers
Location: Rajasthan

Dhan Singh Rawat is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and a former Minister of State for Panchayat Raj from Banswara, Rajasthan. He is known for violating the election commission’s model code of conduct for delivering communal speeches.

In October 2018, Rawat incited people at an election rally on the pretext of “protecting” Hindus to vote for the BJP as “all” Muslims vote for Congress.

“Congress is getting votes because it’s a party for Muslims. Every Muslim has voted for Congress. If all Muslims will vote for Congress, then all Hindus will unite and vote for BJP. Doesn’t matter if the party did something for people till now or not, we will do it now. If all the Muslims can vote for Congress, then Hindus can come together and stand for BJP. Our party will protect you all,” Rawat claimed.

The police registered a case against Rawat for promoting enmity between classes in connection with election with approval from the State Chief Electoral Officer.

In a separate incident in July 2018, a video of Rawat’s son, Raja, ruthlessly beating a man in the middle of the road went viral. However, no action was taken as the victim did not want to file a case due to fear of Rawat.

Rawat regularly posts content in support of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his social media, apart from outreach programs that he attends.
