Abhinav Bhatnagar is a local convenor of the Bajrang Dal in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh. He is known for his pro-Hindu activism on beef bans, religious conversions and temple protection. 

In June 2024, UP police arrested a Muslim cafe owner in Moradabad for allegedly selling “beef burger” based on a complaint by Bhatnagar who staged a protest demanding the arrest. After finding mention of beef burger in the menu, the menu was seized immediately and the cafe was sealed.

“Sale of beef burgers has hurt our religious sentiments. It is yet another attempt by a minority community member to provoke us. We will not tolerate such practice aimed at vitiating the communal amity of the town,” Bhatnagar said.

In November 2024, Bhatnagar and dozens of right-wing activists and residents staged a demonstration in Moradabad after statues at a temple in the city were found desecrated, demanding the immediate arrest of the culprits. The police lodged an FIR against unknown persons.

Bhatnagar’s posts about the pro-Hindu activism taken up by right-wing groups in Moradabad on his social media, with a majority of the posts focusing on the campaigns and events organized by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal.
