Pawan Gupta is the national president of the extremist Hindu outfit Shiv Sena Hindustan and a staunch Hindutva ideologue who regularly incites hatred against both Muslims and Sikhs.
On April 23, 2025, while speaking at a Shiv Sena event in Pehowa, Kurukshetra, Haryana, Gupta fearmongered about the supposed decline of the Hindu population and claimed that Muslims were “changing the nation.” He threatened violent retaliation, saying, “If even one Hindu is killed, kill many of theirs,” invoking the tactics of Israel as a model. This open incitement to violence was framed as self-defence in the name of Hindu safety.
On December 1, 2016, ahead of the Sarbat Khalsa congregation in Talwandi Sabo, he held a press conference in Chandigarh and petitioned the Punjab & Haryana High Court to ban the event. He labelled the Sikh religious gathering a threat to national security and accused its organisers of promoting Khalistan, citing their past banners and speeches. He specifically attacked Simranjit Singh Mann, calling him a pro-Pakistan figure, and painted the entire event as a separatist move orchestrated under the direction of Jathedar Jagtar Singh Hawara.
In both his recent and past speeches, Gupta has consistently pushed a hardline Hindu nationalist agenda, portraying minorities as enemies of the nation and calling for aggressive measures to assert Hindu dominance.
