Suraj Chaudhary

Affiliation: Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP)
Vocation/Title: VHP District Minister, Nainital
Categories: Hate Mongers
Location: Uttarakhand

Suraj Chaudhary, a resident of Ramnagar and the Vishva Hindu Parishad’s (VHP) district minister, has been actively involved in targeting Muslim students in the name of Hindu identity.

On December 20, 2024, Chaudhary led members of the VHP-Bajrang Dal to a government-run school in Ramnagar, Nainital, where they opposed the practice of allowing Muslim students partial leave to attend Friday prayers. He and his group confronted the school principal, pressuring the administration to withdraw the accommodation.

Their intervention led to the Chief Education Officer launching an investigation into the school’s decision—an act that mirrored a wider pattern of harassment aimed at erasing the public visibility of Muslim religious practices. Chaudhary’s actions reflect the aggressive policing of minority religious expression in public institutions under the guise of enforcing discipline and “Hindu values.”
