Madhuram Sharan Shiva, leader of the armed monk group Shiv Shakti Akhada, has built his presence through open calls for violence, economic boycotts, and militarization of Hindu youth under the guise of religious protection. He regularly spews hate against Muslims and Christians, portraying them as enemies of Hinduism and urging his followers to take up arms against them.
On November 22, 2024, in Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh, he accused non-Hindus of attacking Hindu festivals and blamed Hindu youth for being weak because they “only know how to dance.” He urged them to arm themselves to eliminate those he deems threats to Hinduism.
Just days earlier, on November 12, in the same city, he doubled down on his call for an economic boycott of Muslims, telling Hindus not to buy from Muslim shops, rent them spaces, or allow them into their homes. He warned that Muslims were plotting “Gazwa-e-Hind,” a Hindu supremacist conspiracy theory that claims Muslims have a plan to kill Hindus and take over India.
Three days before that, on November 9, in Kamalganj, he openly glorified violence with the slogan, “We won’t be cut, we won’t be divided, now we will be the ones to cut,” a direct call for bloodshed.
His speeches across Uttar Pradesh have followed the same violent theme. In Kannauj, on February 28, he compared Muslims and Christians to demons from Hindu mythology and made his followers take oaths to wield weapons. He claimed that only Hindus are divine, while those wearing “black clothes,” i.e. Muslim women, are evil.
In Farrukhabad again, on November 12, he dismissed traditional trishuls (tridents) and swords as outdated, urging Hindus to arm themselves with modern weapons and use everyday objects as tools for violence instead of feeding the poor during pujas. He criticized Hindus for doing business with non-Hindus and renting shops to them.
In Auraiya, on December 18, he turned his attention to Christian schools, accusing them of spreading Christianity while madrasas and mosques remained untouched. He explicitly called for violence against Catholic institutions.
A few months earlier, on October 22, in Kanpur, he delivered an Islamophobic speech at the ‘Sanyasi Vitti Sanskar Samaroh,’ painting a dystopian picture where Hindu children cower in fear at the sight of Muslim men in skull caps. He warned that if Hindus did not act, their children would soon be forced to wear skull caps too.
Madhuram Sharan Shiva has weaponized religious identity, using every public appearance to push for armed action, economic boycotts, and mass mobilization against minorities. His speeches are drenched in hate, urging Hindus to prepare for war under the false pretense of self-defense. Through Shiv Shakti Akhada, he is creating a violent, militant force that thrives on the dehumanization of Muslims and Christians, feeding into a larger ecosystem of radical Hindutva extremism.
